"Testament of the Day" by Maryann Worrell Sold for $85.00
"Testament of the Day" by Maryann Worrell: I've never been one for the loveliness of hearts-n-floweres. As a metalsmith, I'm drawn to the duplicitous nature of metal;cold and smooth, it can be curvaceous, organic and feminine or sharp, sterile and rough. Mixing this material with found objects, in this case a broken wooden chair, I strive to create work that compels people to look closer, that changes their environment, and confronts them with a contemporary statement, peppered with humor. Maryann is a Phoenixville resident currently working out of her studio at the Phoenix Village Art Center where she is also a certified Art Education Instructor.

Wow! What a distinctive piece of art! I love the back of the chair and the circular design of the metal elements.
